It’s Classics Cruisin’ Week!

Cruisin' Shirt
Doesn’t this t-shirt design say it all? Sixty boating enthusiasts in 25 antique and classic boats from 12 states will be cruising the beautiful blue waters of Table Rock Lake in the Missouri Ozarks this week. The 5-day event, hosted by the Heartland Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society, begins with an inaugural 2-day, 108 mile, pre-event cruise from Branson, Missouri to Eureka Springs, Arkansas on Wednesday with an overnight stay in the historic Basin Park Hotel and a return trip to Branson on Thursday. Weekend events begin Thursday with an Italian dinner prepared by Chef Jon at the Rock Island Grill and continue with scheduled cruises on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with stops for meals at area restaurants and homes of Heartland Chapter members.

While this event has been hosted on Table Rock Lake by the Heartland Chapter for several years, this year will be particularly memorable as the result of the attendance of Dick Werner, International President of the Antique and Classic Boat Society who is travelling from his home in Oregon to participate. As the t-shirt theme proclaims, “Wood’n you rather be Cruisin’?”

Cruisin’ Table Rock

Sixty-five classic boaters from 9 states converged on Table Rock Lake in the Missouri Ozarks in 25 antique and classic boats on June 9, 10 and 11, 2007.  The event, sponsored by the Heartland Chapter, was again held at the Table Rock Marina/Rock Lane Resort on Indian Point Road.

For about 25 of the early arriving participants, the event began Thursday evening when they gathered for dinner at the Rock Lane Restaurant overlooking the lake.  While a few of the boaters were making a return visit to the Table Rock event, 22 were attending for the first time and 15 of the attendees were members of other ACBS chapters.
