Lake Dora Show 2009
To open the boating season, Sunnyland Chapter of ACBS puts on a great show on Lake Dora in Tavares, Florida.
Several Heartland Classics members attended.

The “Field of Dreams”, or land display of boats for sale, included Sweet Alsuma offered by Kyle Jamar. Look for details on THE TRADING DOCK on this website.

Patty Thompson’s handbag became an item of interest when it was discovered by the RIVA representatives who attended from Italy. The bag was made in China, purchased in a store in Altus, OK, but it featured the same zebra design and teal trim used as the upholstery in the original Riva Tritone. A Riva Tritone is the latest restoration project in progress for Clay and Patty.

The flea market was extensive with all kinds of treasures to be found.
Evening gatherings were enjoyed by all.

Larry Nichols and Susan Miller made the pre-event south bound St. John’s River cruise in ARRRGH!

John and Carolynn Thompson did the post-event cruise in Big Thom.

John Thompson says, “We put in at Palatka and cruised south to Sanford for our first overnight. We then retraced our path and eventually cruised north past Palatka to within about an hour’s cruise from where the southbound cruise put in outside Jacksonville.
“While winter and spring were in a tug-of-war for control at our home port on southern Missouri’s Table Rock Lake, late March and early April in central Florida showed spring in full charge. With the promise of shirt-sleeve weather we joined about a dozen classic boats that made the 2009 “Northbound St. John’s River Cruise” hosted by Florida’s Sunnyland ACBS Chapter.
“The just plain fun these cruises have been for us is why we are excited to participate in the Table Rock Lake (White River main channel) cruise from near Branson, Missouri to Holiday Island, Arkansas just outside of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. This pre-event for this year’s Classic’s Cruisin’ Weekend on Table Rock Lake will be 108 total river miles (54 each way) with historic Eureka Springs at one end, Branson at the other and new friends along the way.”
