Air Capitol Antique & Classic Boat Show

Please come join us at the 4th Annual Air Capitol Antique and Classic Boat Fest on May 16, 2009. The show will include a static display of the boats in downtown Wichita on the Arkansas River from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Included is a parade down the river with a live MC telling the audience about each boat.

As in previous years, the Boat Fest is part of the city-wide Wichita River Festival. For those of you who haven’t heard of the River Fest, it is a nine-day-long city-wide party with something for everyone and many family-friendly events. Our show is part of the culmination of the festival, on the most heavily attended day. While the other attendees admire our boats, members are welcome to take in other events at the festival, including a special area of kid-friendly events.

We end the show with style at an awards dinner close to the river that gives us comfortable, front-row seats to the fantastic fireworks display Saturday night. Every boat’s crew gets one of Dan’s hand-made participation trophies and can compete for the traveling People’s Choice cup. Pre-show excursions to various Wichita vicinity attractions (shopping at the fourth largest quilt shop in the US, touring a Frank Lloyd Wright house, touring Cessna are some possibilities) may also be incorporated into this year’s show if attendees are interested. This show has the potential to be the best yet!
